So we know it's a bonus episode and not our usual book dedicated episode, but we need more time to line up our guests and didn't want to leave our listeners without anything to listen to. We hope that we can earn your forgiveness with some of the episodes that are coming in the future.
In this bonus episode we talk about our plan for marathon training which we'll be starting on the day this episode drops, July 15th, 2024… but before we get to that, there is some chat that got a little off topic… To get started, we reflect on what has worked and not worked in the past; of course a lot of this talk is about the Advanced Marathon 2nd edition training plans since those are the ones we've been using. Then we get into what plan we're following this time, why we chose it, why we still don't have a coach, and what tune up races we'll do.
We also get into out fuelling strategy for the marathon (spoiler alert, the same one as previous marathon attempts), if we'll continue strength training, and how Liz plans to also follow a plan to get enough calories for all that training! We don't think we missed anything, but if we did then please reach out to let us know.
