Yoga is a tool that helps bring connection to our bodies, the communities around us and to highest expression of who we want to be. Today's guest Chelsea Roff is sharing how Yoga is also one of the most impactful tools in eating disorder recovery. Chelsea is the founder of Eat Breathe Thrive. She is a yoga and mindfulness instructor, research collaborator, and thought leader in neuroscience and integrative health. An eating disorder survivor, Roff has an intimate understanding of the depths of human suffering and the conditions necessary for individuals and communities to thrive. She created Eat Breathe Thrive 10 years ago and today has helped more than 7,000 people from over 42 countries on their recovery journey.

In this episode we discuss...

  • Chelsea’s personal experience with an eating disorder and yoga as tool for healing
  • The nuance of why yoga traditionally wasn't used in eating disorder recovery
  • The combination of service and community in addition to a physical yoga practice as a part of a holistic recovery experience
  • How yoga helps us notice our personal patterns on and off the mat
  • Meditations that can help connect with the body
  • How yoga can help people not only recover but also PREVENT eating disorders
  • Chelsea’s opinion on how yoga teachers can best support their students who might be struggling with an eating disorder
  • The deeply personal journal of self care and how to be discerning about health and wellness culture while in eating disorder recovery
  • Eat, Breathe, Thrive's classes, workshops and resources for anyone that is struggling with an eating disorder
