25. Suicide Ideation Warning Signs You Should NEVER Ignore

This week in honour of suicide prevention day on the 10th of September - we’re joined by Kayla Easland, a licensed therapist to discuss suicide prevention and suicidal ideation.
The concept of suicidal ideation comes on a spectrum that includes feelings of hopelessness, intrusive thoughts, and the development of a plan to take ones life. In this episode we discuss the importance of recognize warning signs in someone who is struggling, such as changes in sleep patterns, appetite, isolation, and engaging in risky behaviors as well. We also explore the role of social media plays in contributing to mental health issues.
In this episode we discuss how to approach and support loved ones who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts, including the importance of not making assumptions and offering practical help.
