You're probably familiar with what happens when a computer gets overloaded with too much energy -- it begins to buffer and eventually crashes out.
But did you know that we humans buffer too?
Buffering (for us humans) is what happens when we are trying to do hard things and we get overwhelmed with discomfort. We shut down and alleviate the discomfort by engaging in other, less-stressful behaviors that I tell you all about in this episode.
And this creates a problem because when we buffer instead of working on our goals, we stop making progress.
Are you having problems meeting a goal? You may be buffering.
Tune into this episode and find out if you are!
In this episode, I discuss:

  • What buffering is and why we do it
  • How buffering actually increases the amount of discomfort we feel when doing hard things
  • How to break free of a buffering cycle
  • Six well-used examples of buffering behaviors (Which ones are your favorites? I tell you mine in this episode.)
  • The one thing you need to do to curb your buffering

Listen in and stop buffering before it stops you.

Thank you for listening!
