The incredible Dr Julie McElroy. Who is Julie McElroy?

Dr. Julie McElroy is a Scottish female. She is the embodiment of enthusiasm, drive, and motivation. She has overcome numerous obstacles in her life with success. Julie is a woman with so much to offer as she can think of ideas and concepts for whatever project she works on. She has the perseverance, tenacity, and self-leadership needed to succeed. Julie connects the dots between the challenges and roadblocks we encounter in daily life and achieving our objectives. She also shows that no matter what barriers she faces, Julie never lets them win.

I have mild Cerebral Palsy along with profound deafness, so I choose to wear hearing aids. Despite, or you may say ‘in light of’ my disabilities, I have risen above the barriers to study and have accomplished just a few achievements of which I am proud. (a Doctorate, 2 x master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree). My journey into higher education began when I was at an Additional Needs School in Glasgow. I began to question whilst everyone was doubting my ability to succeed, I wondered how far I really could go and could I stand out or above my peers.

So, what does this high achiever do, well, why not train for a marathon, yes, the London Marathon in the form of Frame Running. In doing so, created history in becoming the world’s first female to complete this task this year.

Julie – you are an inspiration, and exceptional woman and a true inspiration.
