Episode Description:

Welcome back to another episode of the Future Template Parent Podcast! This week’s episode is filled with insight into my favorite EMDR books, all of which have greatly improved my skills as an EMDR clinician. I highly recommend them all.

I first dive deep into a book by Dr. Jamie Marich. Dr. Marich has written several books, including "EMDR Made Simple," which provides an overview of EMDR therapy and its applications Learn how Dr. Jamie Marich’s work emphasizes an intersectional, anti-racist approach to EMDR training and therapy. Next, I cover Dr. Laurel Parnell's Attachment-Focused EMDR and discuss how her adaptations of standard protocol inspired me to take a more flexible, relational approach to EMDR. Finally, I discuss Dr. Sandra Paulsen's Looking Through the Eyes of Trauma and Dissociation, the book that has taught me the most about working with clients with complex trauma and significant dissociation. From this book, I learned how to adequately prepare dissociative clients for EMDR processing.
