Julie Ulstrup is an award winning portrait photographer who has been honing her craft and perfecting her skills her entire life. Her photographs have been winning awards since high school, most recently one of her images was awarded a Bronze Medal in the Portrait Masters Accreditation Program. I wanted to talk with her when I heard about her “50 Over 50” Project, a project where she is photographing portraits of women over 50 to highlight their beauty, charisma, and wisdom.
Today we talk about as women why there is a struggle to be seen (when we aren’t feeling photogenic, or comfortable in our bodies), how she’s seen her photography help women show up for themselves, and some tips for how to show up in your own life.
