You don’t know what you don’t know. And nothing could be truer when it comes to ensuring your HIPAA policies are up-to-date and your practice is compliant with the loooong list of requirements.

It’s one thing to be proactive and try to ensure your patient data is protected, but what happens when your work email gets hacked or you have an employee that accidentally posts something that violates patient confidentiality?

The thought of that put fear in my bones which is why I volunteered for a HIPAA audit. Yep, I decided to work with a HIPAA advisor to find out the things I didn’t know - but needed to know - in order to make sure I am doing my due diligence to protect patient information.

And secretly, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to walk into a trap or landmine down the road that I never saw coming, like communicating with patients over email. Yikes!

In this episode of The Clinical Entrepreneur, I'll be sharing important insights from my conversation with a top-notch HIPAA attorney on how to ensure you (and your patients) are protected! 🧑‍⚖️

The stakes are high—legal repercussions, ethical dilemmas, and potential damage to our practice’s reputation.

Join me as we tackle these essential topics, ensuring our practices thrive in safety and our patients feel secure and valued. 💖

In this episode, you’ll discover:

👉 Effective ways to manage patient communication preferences while staying HIPAA-compliant.

👉 The importance of obtaining consent for non-secure communications and how it can protect both you and your patients.

👉 Essential steps to verify and update patient information to maintain compliance.

👉 Strategies to empower your patients and enhance their trust by prioritizing their privacy.
