Think about what you do when someone is giving you criticism. Do you tune them out? Do you talk back or try to defend yourself? Or do you sit quietly and try to see if their criticism applies to you and your life?

Today on The Art of Masculinity, Johnny talks about what good criticism is, how to take it, and how you can use it to improve your life. How does criticism fit into men’s lives? Does being critiqued mean you have a weakness? Johnny shares the biggest flaw we have when getting criticism as well as his experiences with receiving criticism well (and a few times when he didn’t). The key to getting better as men is to stay trainable and capable of improvement because we always have room to improve.

Today on The Art of Masculinity:

  • What makes healthy constructive criticism different?
  • The flaws we have when we view criticism
  • Is there a time when we become “stuck in our ways?”
  • Why we should listen to coaches
  • Go to places and events where you can improve
  • How to give and take constructive criticism
  • Staying quiet during criticism
  • Continue to be trainable because you can always improve
  • “Improving your game” with peer criticism
