I’m exited to share my conversation from one of the live events I hosted at the Boston Marathon! This event as supported by Oiselle and proceeds from book sales at the event benefitted Girls on the Run Boston!

In this conversation we learn about Elvin Kibets life and the book that Johanna Garton wrote called “All in Stride” that highlights her and her husband Shadrack Kipchirchir’s life. Elvin shares about her life as an athlete, a service member in the Army and a mother. The program she is a part of is the Army World Class Athlete Program which many athletes in the US are a part of including the likes of Lenny Korir and Paul Chelimo.

We also talk with Oiselle athletes Brenna Detra and Bri Boehmer in this conversation.

Brenna is an 800 meter specialist with a PR of 1:59 and she is working to make the Olympic team this summer. She shares about being raised by a single Mom and now chasing her big running dreams. She also works remotely for Oracle. Bree was 4th at 2023 Indoor 800m, she’s a 2x NCAA qualifier in the 400 hurdles, an NCAA qualifier in the 4×100 and a semifinalist at the 2019 USAs Outdoor 800m.

Bri ran her first marathon at 42 in 2:33 and is an entrepreneur. She is the CEO of a forward-thinking local company, teach entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado-Boulder, and serves on the board of directors for Startup Colorado. She ran for CU and qualifyed for the national championships in the 3K & 5K. She also has a half Ironman PR of 4:21 and ironman PR of 9:22!

“Whatever your goals are it’s not too late. If there’s something you’ve wanted to do, do it. We set really weird rules and I don’t know why but don’t regret not trying.” – Bri

“Never be afraid to go after what you want.” – Brenna

“You’re more resilient than you think” – Elvin
