In a late-breaking press release, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced late Thursday that the agency had charged nearly 200 individuals accused with involvement in various healthcare fraud schemes estimated at $2.7 billion. Charges were brought against nurses, physicians, and others in a national sweep, and it was estimated that more than $900 million in false claims were submitted to Medicare for wound care grafts.

Reporting on this major developing story during the next edition of Monitor Mondays will be famed whistleblower attorney Mary Inman, partner in the law firm of Whistleblower Partners, LLC.

Broadcast segments will also include these instantly recognizable features:

• Perspective: RACmonitor investigative reporter Edward M. Roche, founder of Barraclough New York, LLC, where he serves as the director of business intelligence, will go behind the proverbial curtain to ascertain if artificial intelligence (AI) is the latest marketing fad or a promising solution to advance healthcare delivery in the U.S.

• Monday Rounds: Ronald Hirsch, MD, vice president of R1 RCM, will be making his Monday Rounds.

• Legislative Update: Cate Brantley, a senior government affairs liaison for Zelis, will report on current healthcare legislation.

• Risky Business: Healthcare attorney David Glaser, shareholder in the law offices of Fredrikson & Byron, will join the broadcast with his trademark segment.
