I love this piece of history because the disciples are confused about Jesus' parables and words. Well, do you relate? So, do I. Often I am confused about what Jesus said in the Bible. Well, so were the disciples!
The great thing here is that Jesus doesn't criticize them for not understanding. Which is amazing given how we can talk to ourselves when we don't understand or how other people can make us feel dumb if we don't understand the Bible.
Jesus simply explains the parable to the disciples. It is wonderful!
And if you have seen Jesus, you have seen the Father. (John 14:9 or John 12:45)
So when you are confused reading the Bible, think about God being just like Jesus and Him helping you to understand what is being said. Over the days, weeks, months and years - He will help you understand both the New Testament and the Old Testament!
