Thank you Sara for your time and openness. Here's Sara in her own words:

About 2.5 years ago, I was confused about my drinking. I wanted to quit, but the idea of quitting was so overwhelming. I was also so confused about quitting drinking, I wondered if I needed to quit completely or if I just needed to learn to moderate. In my mind (at the time), I thought only alcoholics quit drinking, but I just kept thinking that I wasn't an alcoholic (because I hadn't hit a "rock bottom"). All of this confusion and fear around quitting drinking led me to continue drinking for a little too long.

Finally I decided to take a 30 day break from drinking. I would quit for 30 days and then decide what I wanted to do after that. I worked a ton on my mindset during that time by doing daily gratitudes and daily affirmations. I also worked a lot on learning as much as I could about the effects of alcohol on my mental, physical, and emotional health. I felt so amazing after my 30 day break that I kept going! Around day 100, I knew I would never drink again.

Now, I help others do the same. I host monthly alcohol free challenges so other people can quit drinking for 30 days and see what life on the alcohol free side looks like. So many of my alcohol free challenge participants are just like me and find out that alcohol no longer serves them in their life and they quit drinking after 30 days.

I would love to connect with you on social media if my story resonated with you. Also, if you want a kickstart on your alcohol free journey, grab my 10 Mantras that were so helpful to me in the beginning of my alcohol free journey: http://nomorewasteddays.co/10-mantras/
