Finding Comedy in the Chaos of Parenting While Working with Gonzo Parent Jay Rooke
Manage episode 337858028 series 3369845
Jay Rooke is the founder of Gonzo Parenting, a comedic and cathartic Facebook community to help parents laugh and heal with like-minded moms and dads. Jay writes a comic strip called Gonzo Parenting, and his book by the same titled is expected to be released in late 2022.
He’s a writer, healer and mentor who thinks that the biggest challenge of child-rearing is doing the personal work necessary to be the parents we want to become. His podcast teaches how to embrace conscious parenting as a transformational tool to heal ourselves. He’s also a former attorney, restaurateur and personal development coach.
He lives with his wife and seven-year-old boy/girl twins in Sonoma, CA. He can often be found enjoying time with his family, in the middle of telling a really good story or making delicious meals (that his kids will surely not eat).
Jay has spoken at Amazon, he’s been the keynote presenter for various tech companies, and served as the emcee for numerous non-profit fundraising events. His podcasts have over 60,000 downloads and over 1,000 five-star reviews; Jay’s podcast was chosen as an “Editor’s Pick” by Podcast Magazine, and he was selected as a podcast Icon of Influence by the New Media Summit.
