In this episode we speak with Ronni Abergel founder of The Human Library. Ronni is a Danish journalist from the University of Southern Denmark and a multi award winning social change activist. After a friend was stabbed in 1993 at the age of 20 he became the founder of the Danish Stop The Violence Movement and in 2000 the creator of the Human Library concept and founder of the Human Library Organization. He is a profound and recognized speaker from the World 50 to Tedx events around the globe. Since the sudden loss of his wife, artist Zoé Kofod in 2013, he is a widower and a single father of two. Ronni lives with his children in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he was himself raised by a single mother working two jobs. Throughout his life, he has periodically also lived in the Sinai desert in Egypt and on the East Coast in the US. Since 2000, Ronni Abergel has been leading the work of the HLO to embed the Human Library in communities in more than 80 countries around the world.
