It seems a bit pretentious to talk about where I've been like I'm someone important. But I think taking breaks is important. This podcast had been running pretty consistently since the end of December 2019, and when I was wrapping up season two I was feeling a bit uninspired. There was nothing dramatic going on at the time, and I wasn't really hiking as much because of the reservation system. I felt that taking a bit of a breather in between seasons, which are not based on anything besides feeling 15 is a good number, so I could regroup and collect some more thoughts and ideas about what I wanted to talk about. So during that time I talked to a handful of people who you'll be hearing from, either already in the first episode or upcoming. I got to visit a few places near the coast. One of which you'll hear about in this episode. The LCRA parks are typically near the Colorado river, and the Matagorda Bay Nature Park just happens to be located at the end of the river. The parking lot is just next to where it meets the Gulf of Mexico. This environment is home to some amazing birding, fishing, and camping, so give it a listen and I hope it inspires you to get out and check it out!
