The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 2: 4:05pm- Georgia High School Received Shooting Warning- Zach Jewell of The Daily Wire writes: “Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, received a threatening phone call Wednesday morning warning of shootings at five high schools, including Apalachee, before a gunman opened fire and killed at least four people. CNN reported that Georgia law enforcement officials said the phone call to Apalachee High School warned that it would be the first target of five schools where shootings would occur. The officials added that they are still investigating the call and trying to find out who was behind it. The shooting suspect, who is believed to be a 14-year-old male, is in police custody. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) confirmed that four people were dead after the shooting and nine people were hospitalized.” You can read the full article here: https://www.dailywire.com/news/georgia-high-school-received-threat-warning-of-shooting-before-gunman-opened-fire-report?topStoryPosition=2 4:10pm- On Wednesday, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland spoke to the press about the threat of Russian disinformation impacting the 2024 presidential election—and the Department of Justice’s plan to combat the Kremlin’s propaganda campaign. 4:30pm- Brazil Bans Social Media Platform X- Jack Nicas of The New York Times reports: “A panel of Brazilian Supreme Court justices voted on Monday to uphold a decision by one justice last week to block the social network X across the country because its owner, Elon Musk, refused to comply with court orders to suspend certain accounts. Justice Moraes has said Mr. Musk is illegally obstructing his work to clean up the Brazilian internet and remove hate speech and attacks on democracy, while Mr. Musk says Justice Moraes is censoring free speech.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/02/world/americas/brazil-elon-musk-supreme-court.html 4:35pm- On Tuesday night, Sixers General Manager Daryl Morey responded to Brazil’s attack on free speech and expressed concerns about similar policies potentially spreading to the United States: “Really hoping liberals wake up and choose to speak out now for our founding liberal principles. Otherwise, we risk granting excessive power to limit speech to a White House to which you definitely do not want to give more power.” 4:40pm- School Shooting in Georgia- Emmett Lindler, Remy Tumin, and Rick Rojas of The New York Times report: “Four people were killed in a shooting at a high school in northern Georgia on Wednesday, the state’s bureau of investigation said, adding that a suspect was alive and in custody.
