Building a community and a safe place to rant. Creating a space to get real and supporting each other in real life situations. Starting as a facebook group to vent about dentistry and to get feedback from other dental hygienists, it has become a place to let your hair down and get things off your chest. Hygiene is a wonderful career but it can be frustrating, exhausting, rewarding, draining, and fulfilling all at once. As of 2023 there are nearly 13,000 members of the group. Everyone needs a community and to feel like they are not alone. How do you deal with a catty office manager? What pay is the going rate in your town? What is the annoying thing your boss keeps doing? As the RDH Rant girls say “Don’t be a doormat.” The dedicated moderators of the group are Heather Kirby, Lizz O’Brien Bortolotti, Anna Sven.
