Welcome to another episode of The Homestretch w/Adrian Durant, where we meet and have conversations with some of the most inspiring and elite athletes, coaches and sports personalities. USA’s 2011 world 110m hurdle champion and our today's guest, Jason Richardson is one of the most profound and articulate athletes in the sport. Jason Richardson made a statement as one of the world's best by winning a World Outdoor title in 2011 and a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games. He was also a part of a 1-2 American sweep in London. Richardson turned professional in 2009 and elected to focus solely on the high hurdles. He also ran the intermediate hurdles in high school where he recorded the third-fastest high school time ever in the 400m hurdles.

In this interview with Jason Richardson, we will talk about how he got into track & field despite his parents wanted him to focus on academics. Jason was not only a talented athlete but also a gifted scholar. He was involved with the debate team growing up and was awarded the McKissick Scholarship to attend University of South Carolina where he enrolled in sports and entertainment management. We will talk about his time at the University and how he began his journey as a professional athlete at the University. Just like most athletes, Jason faced many challenges during his career, in this interview he talks about facing the challenges and coming to terms with the realities of the business side of the sport.
