The Culture Coach Podcast guest this week is Chief People Officer, Nicci Arsenault. This episode was recorded at CultureCon West in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and it is a great conversation. If you are leading culture at a start-up or fast-growth company, you'll appreciate these learnings.
Here are some of my top takeaways:
1. Take the culture pieces from headquarters and make them special to the locations where you’re hiring.

2. In a high-growth company, think through how you operationalize the value system and North Star (the mission and vision statement) so that it is the foundation and through-line for your culture.

3. Culture is not set it and forget it, it’s like a product, you should continue to iterate and improve as you would your business' product.

4. Culture should not be considered secondary, it can be the driver of revenue and should be prioritized.

5. Startups, don’t wait too long to create opportunities for feedback. Places to start include 1:1, face-to-face feedback, a predictable cadence of onsite/offsite events, communication channels, remote ERGs, and training opportunities.

6. ERGs should be employee-driven with employee buy-in.

7. Monthly manager meetings are a cheap and easy way to help build employee engagement.
