Grab my Black Friday specials through Friday, November 29th.
From the conference halls of CultureCon West in Las Vegas last week, I bring you my interview with the Principal Modern Work Coach for Atlassian, Mark Cruth.
Listen to the episode for the full conversation, but here are some of the highlights:
1. Culture is the manifestation of behaviors and ways of working. If you don’t have the underlying foundation it doesn’t happen.

2. You can never look at culture directly. You can look at your ways of working and behaviors but not the culture.

3. Your values shouldn’t necessarily change as you grow. But, leaders have to continue to show what good looks like as the organization changes.

4. Organizations reflect what leaders tolerate, both the best and the worst behaviors.

5. Relying on process and policy alone will not create the culture you want. Behaviors, processes and tools all need to be present to help accelerate your culture.

6. Sometimes you have to be ruthless to create the culture you want.

7. Creating intentional togetherness can create a sense of belonging. And should probably be refreshed every three months.
