When aspiring Westmeath footballer Mark Rohan was paralysed in a motorbike accident at the age of 20 on the way to a football game with his local club, he quickly set his sights on being able to participate in sport again. Within weeks his parents installed a basketball hoop at home and after trying his hand at a range of sports including wheelchair basketball, and tennis he tried out a hand cycle. Within a couple of years in 2009 he was wearing an Irish jersey on the start line of the World Championships. One year later he was back but this time finished the event with the Gold medal. Going into London 2012 great things were expected and he didn't fail to deliver, bringing home two gold medals in both of his events the Road Race and the Time Trial. Mark talks to Breifne about the accident, what drew him into the world of paralympic sport, his thoughts on the current doping allegations surrounding elite sport and what the future holds for him now that he has retired from the sport. As always on the show he'll be sharing his tips and advice on how people can chase their own goals and dreams.
