Today we will take a look at a Harvard study that states, “Embracing community helps us live longer and happier and could be a greater measure of overall happiness and health than even our genes.”

The study begins by tracking the health of 268 Harvard sophomores in 1938 during the great depression. These individuals were followed for nearly 80 years!! The study was led by Robert Waldinger, director of the study, a psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital and a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

This is what I share from the study:

  • The importance of tending to your relationships.
  • How the quality of relationships can positively impact your health, immunity and stress levels.
  • The true key to healthy aging.
  • How all of this connects to Ayurveda.

“The surprising finding is that our relationships and how happy we are in our relationships has a powerful influence on our health,” - Robert Waldinger

Wishing you the best of health!
