Join us, That Wellbeing @ Work Show, as we discuss the explosion of the employee wellbeing industry which has taken place in the last three years. Employee wellbeing no longer means having a healthy option in the canteen, a subsidy at the local gym and a cycle to work tax-break. Mental health, work life balance, flexible working and the 4 day week have all shot up the agenda. But like any area that has grown so quickly, wellbeing often lacks science; is subject to faddery; taken over by jargon; isn’t measured properly; is over-complicated; and the employee ends up getting bombarded with a lot of stuff that they don’t want and isn’t used. Yet wellbeing is important, and it stands to reason that people who are happy and healthy will have better lives at home and perform better in the workplace.
