In this episode, Christie Smith — coauthor of the forthcoming book Essential — shares her ideas for the future of management. Distributed and remote teams are increasingly common models for work, and coupled with the massive boom in generative AI technology, it’s easy to lose touch with the more personal elements of being a manager.

Christie shares what the research says about managing employees you might never run into in the office… and how to do it in a way that fosters respect, diversity, connection, and real results.
