This week Sally Felice (Affleck) joins me for an in-person conversation to share about her life so far. We record at her home in the eastern suburbs of Sydney on a balmy spring evening with the sound of crickets in the background (which I discovered was near impossible to edit out, but it slowly becomes ambient noise). Sally discusses her early life growing up in the northern beaches area of Sydney, the challenges she faced as a child of divorce, finding solace and community in skateboarding, what it was like being the only girl at the skatepark for the first 4 years of her skating life, self-imposed pressure to prove herself to the boys, getting sponsored by Kewday and Billabong, entering skate comps, being one of the first skate coaches in Australia with Mick Mulhall, meeting her non-skater husband, starting a family, balancing career, her love for all sports (specifically soccer) and much much more.
