It's Monday AKA Mailbag Monday 🙌 📩 Jared is giving you honest advice!! Jared shares insights about how he’s been answering relationship and dating questions for over a decade, often providing a safe space for listeners who seek clarity without judgment. He also introduces a hilarious new term: "The QUOAT" (Worst of All Time), a playful way to describe those who are just a tough hang.

This episode also covers a wide range of topics, from the challenges comedians face when navigating sensitive social issues, to how some comics use their platform to spark controversy for attention. Jared praises stand-up legends like Bill Burr for staying true to their beliefs and discusses the evolving expectations of comedy in a politically charged environment. Jared teases tomorrow's Ticked Off Tuesday episode and shares an entertaining listener email about a European trip gone wrong, featuring non-refundable tickets, work stress, and the complexities of friendship and money😅

Jared goes on to answer a question from a listener. They describe their dating situation to Jared, mentioning they've been on several dates with someone they met "in the wild" (i.e., not on dating apps). They’ve hung out about seven times over three weeks, including both planned and casual dates. Jared notes that meeting someone in real life rather than through apps creates a different dynamic, as people typically assume their app matches are talking to multiple people. When the listener asked the guy what he was looking for, his response was vague, though it seemed like he was open to a relationship. However, the listener feels that he likes her more than she likes him.

Jared digs into the nuances of the conversation, pointing out that the guy's vague answer and his question about whether she's seeing other people might indicate that he's gauging her interest and seriousness. The listener admits she isn’t hooking up with anyone else but is still using dating apps and open to meeting others, although she didn’t tell him that part. Jared says the listener was as honest as she needed to be, but her friend's assumption that this makes them exclusive isn’t necessarily true.

Jared unpacks the situation further, explaining how modern dating can complicate things—especially with the visibility of people on dating apps or in public. He believes that the listener’s conversation with the guy could be interpreted as more serious than it actually is, but clarifies that she’s not locked into a relationship unless she chooses to be. Jared also touches on how different people have varying "pain tolerances" when it comes to dating, referencing how some might feel guilt over dating multiple people, while others don’t see an issue until clear boundaries are set. In his analysis, Jared offers practical advice! listen to hear it all!
