We're back with a special new episode of Rural Health for You & Everybody!
June is National Scoliosis Awareness Month. Though one of the most common spinal abnormalities across the country, affecting millions of Americans each year, many individuals may not be familiar with some of the common symptoms, treatments, and more, unless they have a family history of scoliosis.
Diagnosed with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis in 2009 and undergoing a posterior spinal fusion in 2011, MCMC's marketing director, Amber Sorenson, offers some personal insights into scoliosis and surgical intervention. MCMC rural health clinic provider, Tom Bergman, PA-C, Family Medicine, discusses the importance of yearly screenings and intervention for children, common symptoms that may point to scoliosis, and more.
Call the clinic at (507) 836-6153 to schedule your child's yearly check-up today.
