Parental stress is defined as the type of stress that arises when a parent's perception of the demands of parenting outstrips his or her resources. That type of stress can impact a child's well-being as a result.

In this episode of the Raising Parents Podcast, host Dina Sargeant is joined by Dr. Nikki Martyn, who has more than 15 years of experience in children's mental health and expertise in child development and infant and child mental health. Dina and Dr. Martyn discussed the impact of parental stress on a child's development.

Dr. Martyn’s expertise is also valuable in discussing some misconceptions about parental stress, including its potential impact on infants.
