So glad to have you here for another episode of Raising Confident Girls!
Today I’ll be focusing on a common challenge that I hear from the girls I work with, surrounding parents forcing conversations. Simultaneously, parents will often say that they struggle with communication or their daughter being closed off to talking with them. We all want to be connected with our daughters, even just to check in with them, but asking to have “a talk” can cause defenses and walls to go up. In this episode, I’ll be sharing the concept of changing the dialogue and approach to “Are you open?”, while providing tangible tips you can try in bridging that gap and remaining close to the cherished girl in your life! Tune in to hear more on:
• Why changing the question to “Are you open to talking?” is so important.
• Reflecting on the timing, setting and approach, and why it can make a huge difference.
• How forcing the conversation when they are not open can cause more conflict or arguments.
• Tangible tips and examples of things you can try today!
• Why making this part of your routine and normalizing it is key.
I hope this episode was helpful and I would love to hear other ideas that have worked for you through the social links below! It would mean the world to me if you could rate and review this podcast from wherever you are listening from too! See you back here next Tuesday for another great episode! Until next time, keep raising those confident girls!
