Welcome to the Menopause Reimagined podcast. I'm your host, Andrea Donsky. I'm a Nutritionist (18 years) and I'm IN menopause. I'm a Menopause Educator and Menopause Researcher.
I have some exciting news to share! Our podcast we recently named one of the Top 10 most popular menopause podcasts globally by Feedspot! We are honored and appreciate all of your support.
Today I'm speaking with Jancee Dunn. She's a New York Times bestselling author of nine books, including a memoir and a biography of Cindy Lauper. Her last book, How Not To Hate Your Husband After Kids was published in 12 languages. She's a frequent contributor to the New York Times, Vogue, and Health.
She was a columnist at GQ and at O, the Oprah magazine. She lives in New Jersey with her husband, the author Tim Vanderbilt and their daughter, and now she's the author of Hot and Bothered, What No One Tells You About Menopause, and How to Feel Like Yourself Again.

Here is a breakdown of the interview:
[0:53] I introduce Jancee.

[1:06] I congratulate her for writing a book on menopause.

[1:36] Jancee shares her personal experience with perimenopause and how she initially mistook the symptoms for pregnancy.

[5:23] Jancee talks about the lack of information and resources available on menopause and the motivation behind writing her book.

[6:36] Jancee and I discuss the stigmas, taboos, and lack of conversation surrounding menopause.

[7:10] Jancee mentions the factors contributing to the slow progress in addressing menopause, including racism, ageism, sexism, and lack of research funding.

[8:33] We highlight the positive impact celebrities have by openly discussing menopause and the hope for younger generations to be more transparent about it.

[10:26] We emphasize the importance of educating children about menopause and normalizing the conversation.
