In this episode of Boldly Magnificent, I share my experience of the Lucid Dreaming Immersive Retreat with Charlie Morley. Charlie Morley is a world-renowned lucid dreaming teacher, best-selling author, and a global authority in lucid dreaming and shadow work. He has developed a unique approach to dream work called Mindfulness of Dream and Sleep. I became aware of Charlie when he gave a talk at Mindvalley University in Tallinn last July and was immediately fascinated by the topic and his energy. I knew back then that I wanted to learn more about this special practice, but then - as it does - life happened, and I never did. Until I stumbled upon Charlie's website earlier this year and learned about the workshops and sleepover retreats he offers. The retreat was held on an island called Holy Isle off the west coast of Scotland. The island has a long spiritual history that dates back to the 6th century and houses the Centre for World Peace and Health. Lama Yeshe Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist meditation master in the Kagyu tradition and Charlie's personal Buddhist teacher founded the Holy Isle Project and serves as the Abbot of Samye Ling Monastery in Dumfriesshire. If you don't know what Lucid Dreaming is about, if you're super curious about the topic, or if you have already started practicing some lucid dreaming techniques or even had some lucid dreams, this episode is for you. In this episode, you'll hear: How I learned about Lucid Dreaming and why I decided to fly up to Scotland to learn more about it Why I almost canceled the entire trip and the reasons I am thrilled that I didn't My verrrry typical Anne-Sophie travel adventure to get to Holy Isle The overall experience at the retreat center (from teaching sessions to meditations, yoga nidra, breathwork to walking meditations, awareness building. dream circles, and long walks) My absolute favorite part of the entire experience What I learned about the importance of dream yoga (which is way more than waking up in a dream) in Buddhism Why anyone can become lucid in a dream and so much more This is a retreat I'll never forget. It helped me to reconnect with nature, disconnect from the world, and immerse myself in the fascinating world of sleep, which after all, makes up one-third of our lives. As mentioned in the episode, here are my initial reflections on the retreat as it was happening: Friday, April 14th Saturday, April 15th Sunday, April 16th Monday, April 17th I am curious: Have you had a lucid dream? Are you using certain practices to train your brain to become lucid? I would loooove to hear from you.
