In this episode, Serina Taluja and Ashley Coffell host Dr. Sarah Bondos, an associate professor in Texas A&M’s department of Molecular & Cellular Medicine. They explore Dr. Bondos’ expertise in biomaterials, running an academic laboratory while simultaneously starting and operating a biotechnology company, overcoming challenges as a woman in science, and being a beagle owner.

Dr. Bondos received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina in 1993, and went on to pursue her PhD at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she completed her degree in 1998. Dr. Bondos co-founded Bondwell Technologies in 2017, where she serves as the Chief Scientific Officer. She has received an NSF Career Award and a TAMHSC College of Medicine Research Excellence Award. Dr. Bondos is heavily involved in Texas A&M’s Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Genetics & Genomics, where she is active in recruitment and advising.
