The Houses of Parliament, also known as the Palace of Westminster, is the seat of the UK Parliament and one of London's most iconic landmarks. Situated along the River Thames, the complex includes the House of Commons and the House of Lords, where legislative decisions and debates take place. Originally a royal residence, the current Gothic Revival structure was completed in the mid-19th century after a fire destroyed the medieval palace in 1834.
