Being a small family business means wearing a lot of different hats. While the title says Marketing Manager, Brandon Huynh does a lot more than that in the business his father started more than 15 years ago. He joins hosts Don Sherman and Ebony Clemons-Ajibolade to discuss how the KimSon Asian Market was founded in a recession but has continued to grow and thrive over the years. On this episode we discuss:

  • Growing up working and being connected to the family business, then transitioning to leading it
  • The balance of wearing all the hats of a small business
  • Adding a personal touch to help customers
  • The mystery of what is inside the market, providing unique cultural food options
  • Using social media platforms to grow your reach
  • How the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce supports and promotes small businesses
  • How opportunity is born out of tragedy
  • The critical elements of timing and location in planning for expansion
  • Standing out amongst competitors
  • How blending mindsets with others can produce better outcomes for the business
