Today’s West Coast Cookbook & Speakeasy Podcast for our especially special Daily Special, Metro Shrimp & Grits Thursdays is now available on the Spreaker Player!
Starting off in the Bistro Cafe, JD Vance’s Yale Law School roommate says, “I lived with the creep, I know his secrets and how to control him.”
Then, on the rest of the menu, prosecutors revealed that some evidence a federal judge had excluded from the bribery trial of former New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez, was inadvertently put on a computer given to jurors; a California eighteen year-old plead guilty to making hundreds of swatting calls to Black colleges, synagogues and mosques; and, the state of Louisiana asked a federal appeals court to immediately block a judge’s ruling that posting the Ten Commandments in classrooms is unconstitutional.
After the break, we move to the Chef’s Table where a federal investigation into efforts by the Chinese government to hack into US telecommunications networks has revealed a “broad and significant” cyber-espionage campaign; and, Paris prosecutors requested a 2-year prison sentence for far-right leader Marine Le Pen and an additional 5-year period of ineligibility to run for office, in a trial over embezzlement of European Parliament funds.
All that and more, on West Coast Cookbook & Speakeasy with Chef de Cuisine Justice Putnam.
