WARNING: This episode uses the politically incorrect word “negro” to describe black Americans. It is not my own choice of language, nor is it my opinion, as it is only used when I am directly quoting what someone wrote or said at the time the events took place. No offense is intended.
IN THIS EPISODE: You wouldn’t think this would be Weird Darkness material, but there is an unsolved mystery here more than 130 years in the making. Dissecting the human nervous system is a taxing task—and in some cases, very little is known about the people whose bodies wound up on anatomists' tables. In 19th-century Philadelphia, an anatomist dissected and mounted a human nervous system. Now researchers are trying to figure out whose remains are stretched out in a glass case. And it’s proving to be quite difficult.
