Julliet Kirui, from Kenya, is a doctoral student at Strathmore University where she studies computer and information science. She is currently working on a deep learning model for water quality management. With a strong understanding of the many challenges affecting Africa, such as food insecurity, climate change, and water issues, she believes that involving women in research will increase the number of innovative solutions to Africa’s problems.
She is one of the 20 African women researchers rewarded for the excellence of their scientific work through the For Women in Science Young Talents Program for Sub-Saharan Africa, led by The Fondation L’Oréal and UNESCO.
