Welcome to another episode of the Transport for the North Podcast! Join our new Business Matters series, which looks at transport investment as an enabling force to encourage job creation, economic growth and increased access to opportunity for the 16 million people living here. In this episode, Gemma speaks to County Councillor Charlie Edwards, who is also one of the Vice-Chairs of the Transport for the North Board. He speaks to us about his experience of doing business in Morecambe, and the benefits of setting up shop in the wider county, showcasing the immense opportunities on offer in Lancashire. He also tells us about some of the new developments proposed for Lancashire, including a new rail station at Cottam Parkway, with infrastructure such as the Preston Western Distributer and East-West Link Road already underway. Finally, we hear more about Councillor Edwards' role on the Transport for the North Board, why he values the technical work done by TfN, and his experience of working with other TfN Board Members in a pan-regional One North approach.
