Welcome to Ti20's Game Balls Episode 5.

GoTigers247 is joined by quarterback Seth Henigan and cornerback Greg Rubin as they receive the game balls for their performance in the 24-3 win over Temple in Week 5 of the 2022 college football season.

Seth Henigan went 24/45, 195 yards and 1 touchdown. He also carried the ball 19 times for 60 yards. Seth breaks down his performance in the Temple game, and shares how frustrated he was to look up at halftime and see zero points on the board for the Tigers. He talks about how he has never really experienced that before, and how he kept the offense even keeled during a halftime where frustration could have gotten the better of them. He's a firm believer in everyone owning their individual mistakes, and he believes the Tigers are really good at that. He encouraged everyone to forget previous plays and to look forward to the next. Kenny and Seth talk through the idea of being a leader when everything is going well compared to when the game was a grind and struggle. He is encouraged that the Tigers are finishing games and winning. He understands that most fans love a frontrunning offense that is running up the scores on opponents, but he cares more about winning than he does about putting up ridiculous stats. Seth believes the Tigers have great chemistry and camaraderie and are able to stick together even when the offense isn't performing to their standards. Seth is not satisfied with the offense's performance and believes they are continuing to work on getting better each game.

Native Memphian, Greg Rubin, joins GoTigers247 in the second segment. Greg is a former White Station High School football star and is in his second year playing for his hometown team. Greg ended the Temple game with 8 tackles, 5 solo, and was a menace the entire game in the backfield and as the nickelback covering the middle of the field. Greg shares how much he loves wearing the Memphis name on his chest every week. He has always wanted to represent his city because he knows how hard it is for kids that grew up like him to make it out. He shared how he wants to be an inspiration for those young kids to understand that if they work hard and do right, they can make it out like him. Greg is pleased with the direction of the defense in the last few games. He thinks the defense is starting to find a groove in the new Matt Barnes scheme, and shares how hard they are working to keep it going. He is pleased with the takeaways that the Memphis' defense has produced this year. He takes pride in being a part of the plays where others are getting interceptions, but can't wait until he gets his own.
