Today on Episode 5: DO THE WORK! Feat. Coach Ty Daniels here to talk about the ins and outs to the physical fitness world and how he started down this path.
To kick off the show Coach Ty gave us some background on growing up in Radcliff, KY “Rolling Hills” Neighborhood and what is family structure was like. Bring the youngest of 3 Ty said he didn’t get all of the attributes as his older siblings. He then talks about the different schools he attended from public to private then back to public schools and why.
Later in the episode Coach Ty talks about graduating from John Hardin High School and later attending the University of Memphis on a track scholarship, something he’d later lose. After getting on academic probation and later flunking out of college, Ty would find himself living in Memphis working odd end jobs and couch surfing at different friends homes.
After couch surfing Ty would make the ultimate decision to join the military. After checking out a few different branches, Ty would find himself a new member of the Marine Corps and a member of their track team…at least he thought. Ty spent time in the Marines and later would get out and return home to his roots in Radcliff, KY.
Once home Ty would find a live and inspiration for taking photos, something he began doing for fun in high school. This would later turn into Studio One Photos a lucrative photography business. Ty talks about how he got new gigs, learned on the fly and taught those around him how to be great at taking photos. But, Ty still had an itch for fitness and began training and coaching people in the community and SNAP and Planet Fitness.
From there Ty would end up coaching at Savoy Fitness where I would see him train and ultimately get the John Hardin Boys Basketball team in tip top shaper for their upcoming season. Ty would later leave and start his own gym which we now know as O.N.Y.X. Fitness Academy.
Ty and Onyx fitness has a lot to offer and we talk about how it has shaped him as a coach and how he loves providing a place for youth and adults to get fit. Tap in right now and get a clearer view of Coach Ty Daniels and Onyx Fitness Academy!
