Hi Friends! Today on the podcast, I chat with Jake Avila. Whom many know as one of the amazing bartenders at Millennium FANDOM BAR - Las Vegas Fandom Bar. Jake and I met years ago at Bad Owl where he was the barista there (he made bomb ass Butterbrews by the way).

Jake shares insights into the transition from making coffee to mixing cocktails, emphasizing the importance of hospitality in both roles. He shares about his experiences working in Las Vegas, including memorable moments and the challenges of bartending. The episode also touches on the rise of mocktails in the bar scene and the supportive community in the Downtown Arts District. Jake concludes by discussing personal growth and the importance of pursuing one's own interests, regardless of societal expectations.

  • 3:25- Jake's transition from barista to bartender
  • 7:44- Learning the Art of Bartending
  • 13:39- The rise and possible future of Mocktails
  • 21:44- Bartending Stories, Rubber Ducks, and Pirate Takeovers
  • 35:55- Advice for Younger Self
