This week on the podcast we tackle the question of pain and suffering. Why does a good God allow bad things to happen? How do we think through this as followers of Jesus? The interesting thing is that often times this issue is framed as a problem that christians have to answer, because we say we believe in a God who is both good and powerful. The reality is that the question of evil and suffering is a central question for every single worldview and belief system. At the end of the day, all answers end with some element of mystery. The question is, does your answer enable you to truly live in a world that is both beautiful and broken? Does your answer provide you with a story big enough to enable you to live, to love and to fight in life’s battles with courage and hope? Does it enable you to throw a feast under the shadow of death? We argue, that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only one that provides that kind of answer.
