Professor Steven C Hayes is the co-developer of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Relational Frame Theory, and most recently Process-Based Therapy (PBT). This session provides an introduction to PBT, what it is, what it isn’t, and how it can help clinicians both better serve their clients, and continuously improve their clinical skills. You’ll learn: — Why it’s vital to view psychological problems as existing as ‘nodes’ in a network’ — Why the 10,000 hour rule doesn’t apply in therapy, and what you can do about it — How to take a scientific approach to your therapeutic work that enables you to get the root causes of your clients’ issues, and continuously improve your skills —How to take a ‘multilevel’ approach to psychotherapy —The Extended Evolutionary Meta Model, and how it can enhance therapeutic work. And more. If you are interested in a ‘deeper dive’ after this session, check out the book here: https://bit.ly/learning-pbt --- Steven C. Hayes, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno. The author of forty-three books and more than six hundred scientific articles, he has served as president of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, and is one of the most cited psychologists in the world. Dr. Hayes initiated the development of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and of Relational Frame Theory (RFT), the approach to cognition on which ACT is based. Most recently, he has been focused on developing Process Based Therapy along with Prof Stefan Hofmann.
