The Tigers swept the lowly Minnesota Twins immediately following our last show, but saw the tables turned on them in three-game sweeps at the hands of the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers. As things stand on Mother's Day, the team is on a six-game skid and seven games back in the division. Unfortunately, there's no easy fix this time around. The Tigers have been bad in all facets of the game recently, with the newly renovated bullpen responsible for a gut-wrenching loss to the Rangers on Sunday. The starting pitching has been their Achilles heel all season, while the offense can be blamed for multiple losses during this stretch as well. However, the show must go on. This week, Rob and HookSlide discuss the sad state of Tigers baseball, what to do about Mike Pelfrey, and whether Michael Fulmer is the man to fill Shane Greene's shoes for weeks on end. They also look ahead to what may be a grueling week of baseball on the east coast, and take their usual load of listener questions. Topics in this week's episode include: - Do we really have to podcast about this? - What isn't wrong with the Tigers right now - Michael Fulmer and the changeup that wasn't - Whether there's anyone on the Nationals besides Bryce Harper - Who replaces Shane Greene in the rotation after this week's setback? - How do the Tigers handle Mike Pelfrey? - BARTOLO COLON HOMERED - Interview with Conor Lastowka of RiffTrax Contents: 2:32 - Rounding the Bases: and then everything fell apart. Everything. 22:52 - Warming in the Pen: guess who just reinjured himself? 41:29 - High and Tight: dumb things I heard 56:18 - Into the Mob Scene: the recovery of General Fulmer 1:09:51 - 7th Inning Kvetch: watching baseball, telling jokes (with Conor Lastowka of RiffTrax)
