Is NYC in the nation’s top brunch bunch? A new ranking highlighted the restaurants across the US that patrons most love to hit early in the day. Casino site Jackpot City analyzed the popularity of 124 brunch hot spots based on the number of Instagram posts with hashtags specific to each restaurant, according to Time Out. In the headlines on #TheUpdate this Tuesday, longtime public servant Jessica Tisch vowed to improve New Yorkers’ quality of life as she was sworn-in as NYPD commissioner. Manhattan’s top federal prosecutor said he’ll step down ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration — leaving behind the pending corruption indictment against Mayor Eric Adams and several other major open cases. And in the ongoing transition of power, President-elect Donald Trump threatened to impose sweeping new tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China as soon as he takes office as part of his effort to crack down on illegal immigration and drugs. He said he would impose a 25% tax on all products entering the country from Canada and Mexico, and an additional 10% tariff on goods from China, as one of his first executive orders.
