In this episode, I'm talking with Jane Ferré, a career coach for HR professionals – whether that's forging a career inside their current organisation or getting back on track after being made redundant.

Jane worked in HR and Training for major companies such as British Airways and Leon, until numerous internal restructures led to her being made redundant. After being unsuccessful in numerous job interviews, she realised that she didn't actually want to be employed and that, deep down, she'd always wanted to work for herself.

Amongst the things we discuss are such subjects as:

  • the importance of playing to your strengths instead of worrying about your weaknesses;
  • why businesses always cut costs in the wrong departments first; and
  • the immediate steps you should take if you are made redundant.

We also explore how we can now create our future careers, working when and how we want to. If you can imagine it, then why not find a way to do it?

So do check those out but for now, sit back, relax, think about what your dream job looks like and, most of all, enjoy.
