In this episode, I'm talking with Michael de Groot who helps businesses tell better stories about themselves, frequently through images and animation.

Part Dutch, part Indian and raised in Suriname, Michael had an interesting upbringing along with adventures in many different ventures. All the different strands of Michael's life come together at the end to where we find him today as a confident creator.

In our conversation, we cover a number of topics, including:

  • what happens to others when you tell your story;

  • an insight into the drip-drip effect of advertising; and

  • the four key things that every story has to have in it.

What is particularly interesting is that, in terms of basic structure, we all have the same story. The nuances may shift but the essence is the same for everyone – and this is why we identify so much with books, films and the power of story.
