As August rolls along, vacations are wrapping up, people are beginning to prepare for the start of the new school year, and, because it’s an election year, people are anxiously awaiting the results of November’s polls! With that said, it’s not shocking to see that our real estate market is softening up, but, what does that mean?! Even though the market is softening up and slowing down, it may not have the dramatic impact you were hoping would happen, especially if you are a buyer! TALKING POINTS (3-5):
  • Introduction
  • More homes are coming on the market, but they are taking longer to sell
    • Prices are higher and continuing to rise
      • There’s still a demand for housing!
    • Homebuyers are waiting on lower mortgage rates
    • It’s not uncommon to see a softening of the market in August as we take final vacations and prepare for the new school year
    • Political tensions are rising!
  • Should I buy now or wait?
    • If you have the money and are on solid financial ground, definitely consider purchasing!
    • We don’t’ know if it’s going to get better!
    • 2008 is not happening again!
      • Instead, work on getting yourself financially ready!
  • I still have some…not all…but some listings that are moving quickly!
    • Watch the current DOM and DO NOT compare yourself to your neighbor’s house sale from last year!
  • Final thoughts
    • Buyers think it’s 2008 and sellers think it’s 2021!
