Have you ever chosen a word of the year? This is the fifth and final of our collaboration episodes with Zoweh a nonprofit mission that desires for people to experience the life, love, and freedom that comes from deeper intimacy with God and others. Today we are going to have a conversation with Zoweh’s YouVersion Content Director and Women’s Guide Team member Maggie Greenway. In this episode, Maggie shares her journey of being deeply rooted in God and overcoming fear. Plus, discusses the concept of having a word of the year and how it has shaped her life. Maggie also talks about her transition to working at Zoweh and the importance of our personal stories. I hope you enjoy this episode and feel encouraged to disentangle the fear in your life.

Takeaways

  • Choosing a word of the year can be a powerful way to reflect on the past and set intentions for the future.
  • Fear can entangle us and prevent us from fully experiencing God's love and purpose for our lives.
  • Being deeply rooted in God and His Word can provide strength, comfort, and guidance in difficult times.
  • Personal stories and testimonies have the power to inspire and encourage others in their faith journey.

Reflection Questions

  1. What are you going to say No to this year - what is entangling you that you didn’t realize was there?
  2. No surprise here - I encourage you to spend some time discovering your word of the year. Maybe it is something that keeps popping up, you want to use the Zoweh resource - whatever you choose it is making intentional time for you and Jesus.
